Bruce is married to the beautiful Janet Jones. They have three children, and eight grand-children, and one handsome great-grandchild.  He began working at RR Donnelley in August 1969 and worked through April 2006 in various positions with the company. Bruce also served 6 years in the Indiana National Guard attaining the rank of Sergeant. He became a Christian in April 1976, and has been learning a little everyday since as the Holy Spirit uses the Word, C.S Lewis, John Piper, Alistair Begg, John MacArthur, and R.C. Sproul to pepper him with thoughts. Bruce served as an Adult Bible Fellowship leader, and as a deacon after becoming a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church (now Rock Point Church) in March, 2003. Following an early retirement from Donnelley in 2006, Bruce began to serve as the Administrative Pastor at Rock Point Church, (formerly Pleasant View Baptist Church. He retired from the Administrative Pastor position on December 31, 2014.

Bruce has volunteered as a softball, baseball, football, and basketball coach, a fireman, an EMT, an instructor for "Positive Steps" (part of A.H.E.A.D. Coalition,) counselor, and an instructor for Celebrate Recovery. Currently at RP, Bruce is delighted to serve in RP Kids as a "Storyteller", as a small group leader, as a small group coach, as an Elder, and occasionally as a  breakfast eater with some of his friends who want to talk to an “old man”. He also serves as a director for Through The Gate. Additionally, just to keep himself moving, Bruce cooks up some maple syrup every year at his house.
